Satisfy the ground requirement of 61.56 today, satisfaction guaranteed

Pilot Proficient’s Flight Review Course satisfies the requirement of 14 CFR 61.56 for Ground Instruction toward your review (formerly known as the Biennial flight review “BFR”).  We’ll cover several areas with video and multimedia presentations in order to help you remain a competent, safe and proficient pilot.

Covered in the Course:

Completion of the course, including passing all quizzes with a score of 80% or better will satisfy the ground instruction requirement of 14 CFR 61.56, and you’ll receive a signed logbook endorsement from a Certified Flight Instructor attesting to the instruction you have received.

NOTE: Acceptance of this course as the ground portion of your review should be verified with your CFI in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I fail a Flight Review?

No.  While the review is, in fact, an evaluation, there is no record or logbook entry made for unsatisfactory performance.

Is this different than a Biennial Flight Review (BFR)

This course replaces what what was formerly know as the BFR.  The content covers the same areas as you will be familiar with.

Who needs a flight review?

With limited exceptions, every pilot must accomplish the requirements of the Flight Review, as shown in FAR 61.56, at least every 24 calendar months in order to act as Pilot in Command. Many General Aviation pilots accomplish this review by receiving ground and flight instruction with a competent CFI, and gain valuable knowledge and recurrent training every 24 months.

Rusty pilot

I took this course as an overview of general aviation (GA) before scheduling my flight review. It has been eight years since I have flown GA and four years since I flew Part 121. Working to become current again, I was worried I forgot a lot of information and I did. This course was a great reminder of what I need to focus on to become proficient.

Final Chapter "Tips & Tricks" Is a Solicitation for Patreon Funds! for a "Free Course" That Actually Cost $39!

The Flight Review ground portion review was comprehensive, well-paced and informative. ADM was the topic most new to me as I was put-to-date on regs, airspace, weather, etc. I think this self-paced review prior to my flight instructor session has great value in letting him concentrate on his favorite topics rather than a general overview. Good value at $39 for about 90 minutes including quizzes.

Warren,
I’m glad you enjoyed the course, and thank you for the thoughtful review! To be transparent, we did previously have a Patreon program set up during the promotional period when this course was being offered for free. That page should have been deleted with the price change, and we missed it. We’ve removed it now, thank you for bringing it to my attention! -Gavin

I enjoyed this course. It has helped to renew interest in flying and in referencing FARAIM, to relearn some forgotten knowledge.
